The Vatican’s ten commandments for driving and other things that caught my eye

Got road rage? The Vatican on Tuesday issued a set of “Ten Commandments” for drivers, telling motorists to be charitable to others on the highways, to refrain from drinking and driving, and to pray you make it before you even buckle up.

An unusual document from the Vatican’s office for migrants and itinerant people also warned that automobiles can be “an occasion of sin” — particularly when they are used for dangerous passing or for prostitution.

I was going to get all sarcastic about this but there are actually some points in here that it might be good for me to think about. Especially the road rage items. I really need to learn to be more patient.

Construction of the U.S. embassy in Iraq, set to open in September, is projected to cost $592 million, with a staff of 1,000 people and operating costs totaling $1.2 billion a year. It will be a 104-acre complex, which is the size of approximately 80 football fields.

This little tidbit came my way via Matthew Good. George Bush’s America continues to astound me with their arrogance.

Despite a huge uproar that the move is an insult to Canadian soldiers, Toronto Mayor David Miller is backing a plan by the city’s fire and ambulance chiefs to remove yellow “Support our Troops” decals from the backs of nearly 350 vehicles.

What a bunch of crap. Even if you aren’t in agreement with the Iraq war I think we can all get together on the concept of supporting our troops.

Willy T. Ribbs who you have probably never heard of (unfortunately) on F1 upstart Lewis Hamilton (who you may have heard of). Michael Schumacher may have won the most world titles, but he isn’t Ayrton Senna. Not even close.
